7 homegrown jewellery designers on Vogue’s radar right now

*Vogue* rounds up local jewellery labels that deserve a place in your jewellery box.

Hannan

Childhood friends Bhaavya Bhatnagar and Rishi Baweja first came together to co-create a clothing label and soon launched a jewellery brand named Hannan. The brand creates one-of-a-kind charms in resin, ceramic and freshwater pearls which lend a new, endearing and winsome perspective to your everyday baubles. On Vogue‘s radar are the label’s sculptural line earrings, pear-drop necklaces and ear cuffs. Hannan’s pieces help encourage local crafts and employ craftsmen who are now under threat by automation and the rapid industry demands.

Lune

Nestled between the quaint streets of Chimbai Village in Bandra, is an independent jewellery brand called Lune. Light, whimsical and delicate would be words best used to describe Sreesha S’s everyday pieces, making them a favourite amongst celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and most recently, Vogue‘s March cover girl Winnie Harlow.

Bhavya Ramesh Jewelry

Bangalore-based and self-taught Bhavya Ramesh prefers the title of naturalist and bohemian over jewellery designer. A designation is far too technical for her free-spirited pieces that are a clear expression of her passion and curiosity towards the bohemian culture.

Lazy Lemons Studio

At Lazy Lemons Studio, you’ll find fantastical pieces moulded and created fondly out of upcycled brass. On Vogue‘s lust list, the brand’s antique-finished ‘Tiger’ hoops and ‘VivaLaFrida’ earrings top the charts. Their abstract designs also take shape in sculptural gold rings and long earrings.

Olio

Kolkata-based Ashna Singh and Sneha Saksena have come together to create a jewellery brand that is built on the simple thought of being a modern-day heirloom. Their striking, versatile and interchangeable pieces can be worn on their own or layered making them the perfect addition to your wardrobe.

One Nought One One

Started by Zinal Vora and Ayushi Thakkar, two design graduates from Gujarat, One Nought One One is a shared love for all things creative. Their pieces strike the balance between minimalism and high-impact. Look to the brand’s signature oversized earrings that come in all shapes and finishes.

ME by Megha

Designer Megha Agarwal started her label ME by Megha with a vision to create contemporary pieces that could be worn by anybody, and still let them feel like themselves. Her recent collection, inspired by her travels around the world, caught our eye as each piece perfectly captures her unique artistic language with simplicity. Interestingly, all her pieces incorporate a motif of the art form that inspired that line.
